Since 1999, SpiritHouse Inc, a Durham, North Carolina based non-profit organization, has worked with low-wealth families and community members to uncover and uproot the systemic barriers that prevent us from gaining the resources, leverage and capacity for long-term self-sufficiency.
We pursue our mission and vision purposefully and with compassion developing programs that:
- Create community driven strategies designed to address & improve conditions in our lives.
- Tell culturally relevant stories of underrepresented, everyday folk.
- Encourage increased civic engagement by people of color, women and teens for primary leadership roles within our communities.
- Connect community members with community partners who can help us all meet our needs.
